DAVID YURMAN

DAVID YURMAN

Overview

Supported the PD team in building mechanicals, managing product data within PLM, and reviewing CADs in Rhino. Partnered with vendors to facilitate design execution and production, evaluating technical feasibility. Independently created and developed a design that was produced in the David Yurman shop, informed by brand strategy and competitive context.

Project Brief:

Identify an opportunity area for the brand, then formulate a strategy and product displaying your idea.

Our Strategy:

Many luxury brands celebrate their heritage through signature initial pieces that subtly reinforce brand identity. Our strategy was to explore how David Yurman could do the same in a way that feels refined and subtle, yet unmistakably Yurman. Rather than an overt logo, I developed a sculptural interpretation of the letters “DY,” designed to read as an elegant form first and a brand symbol second. Positioned within the Y Collection, the piece would anchor a milestone launch in 2030, commemorating the brand’s 50-year anniversary while reinforcing its legacy through thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and restraint.
